Root
We started out as a Multi-brand store specializing in American casual wear for kids.
The history of MARKEY’S dates back to 1991, when founder Masayuki Hirohata opened a Multi-brand store for American casual children's clothing in Sakai City, Osaka.
At the time, there were very few casual kidswear brands in Japan. But Hirohata’s sharp eye for style—bringing in denim and other pieces from the U.S. that rivaled adult fashion—quickly gained a following among fashion-conscious mothers.
The shop soon became a local favorite, and as demand grew, MARKEY’S steadily expanded. By 2008, the company had grown enough to launch its own original brand.
